Former FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR actor James Avery has died at the age of 65 from complications of open heart surgery. He became the first major celebrity to pass away this year. Avery’s health seemed to greatly suffer of late where the actor needed a wheelchair in recent times as his health grew weak. Avery was a former veteran of the Vietnam Warm serving in the Navy, but later graduated onto a long acting career, mostly as a strong supporting character actor. His dignified nature coupled with his kind demeanor made him a real asset to so many TV shows as well as movies. He was a durable character actor. His presence in acting will be greatly missed, and a sad reminder that many beloved actors and celebrities will likely pass away this coming year.
